Some people even believe that SAM is a “a graphical version of the venerable ed on steroids”
The Text Editor sam by Rob Pike - But way before SAM there was QED. This was created by Butler Lampson, L. Peter Deutsch, Dana Angluin. It was released in 1967 for the Berkeley Timesharing System (SDS 940).
