Today we are wondering whether Discourse can be used for Zettelkasten method note taking.

(Earlier this week we found out that [Apple Notes can be used for Zettelkasten](https://pluralist.net/t/using-apple-notes-for-zettelkasten-method-2025-04-25/264) because it implements a way to links notes using the `>>` shortcut!)

- Each post could be a Zettel (a note / card)
- Tags can be used to separate [the different kinds of cards (Permanent, Fleeting, Literature notes etc.)](https://pluralist.net/t/categories-of-notes-in-zettelkasten-2025-04-23/265)
- Can we have automatic back links?
  - the answer is YES - as shown by the link above - linking between Discourse posts is possible and the target post shows back links!
